In the absence of Greg Slaughter, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel center Japeth Aguilar will be looking to make an impact in the upcoming 2020 PBA Philippine Cup. He was recently named MVP following the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, which ended earlier this year.
“For me, ang strength namin is playing as a team talaga (For me, our real strength is our ability to play as a team),” Aguilar explained. “I just [have] to be ready.”
“‘Yung mindset ko, hindi talaga ako pwedeng mag-relax dahil alam ko na medyo malaki ang gagampanan kong role this coming all-Filipino (My mindset is that I cannot relax because my perfomance plays a somewhat significant role in the upcoming Philippine Cup).” he added. “I know na hindi lang ako ‘yung mag-a-adjust, pati ‘yung buong team talaga (I know it is not just me who must adjust but the entire team).”
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial earlier said the league may resume in May./ASC, WDJ
