Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco yesterday confirmed the town councilor who had earlier exhibited “flu-like symptoms” tested negative for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19. He called the news “a relief” after they waited eight days for the results.
The mayor noted, the development also comforted the town councilors who attended last week’s town council meeting with the individual in question.
He added, while Toboso remains “Covid-19 free,” they are not letting their guard down.
The town councilor earlier showed “flu-like symptoms” after returning from Manila. They were subsequently hospitalized after experiencing breathing difficulties, however, by Saturday, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the councilor had recovered slightly./DGB, WDJ
