Fast lanes implemented for transporting goods, emergency vehicles

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, appealed for local residents to cooperate with the quarantine controls imposed by the provincial government in an effort to reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
The law enforcement official said he hopes those living near the border between Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental are following border control protocols. In addition, he also called for the public to remain indoors as much as possible.
With regard to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson ensuring the flow of goods into the province remains unhampered, Baleros said they have begun implementing “fast lanes” at the province’s boundaries
“The fast lanes are also being used for health and emergency workers,” he added.
Meanwhile, despite Police Regional Office-6 recording a 62 percent drop in the crime rate, Baleros said police are continuing their campaign against crime, especially monitoring illegal drug activities, as intelligence reports suggest drug offenders are taking advantage of the Covid-19 situation./DGB, WDJ
