Himamaylan City collision leaves one dead

One person was killed when the pedicab they were riding was sideswiped by a cargo truck Thursday afternoon at Crossing Antolo in Himamaylan City’s Barangay Suay. Authorities identified the fatality as 13-year-old Christian Salazar Edquila of the said neighborhood’s Sitio Cagay who died from injuries to his head and body.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old April Rose Gatilogo and 14-year-old Analiza Melendez were injured.
The pedicab they were riding was struck by a cargo truck driven by 41-year-old Jovannie Amar Tamises while crossing the highway.
The three were brought to the Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital where Edquila was declared dead-on-arrival.
The truck driver is currently under custody of the Himamaylan City Police Station./WDJ
