Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson called on local mayors to ensure the delivery of goods is unhampered due to quarantine measures implemented due to ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
A memorandum issued yesterday noted: “In order to ensure the well-being of all Negrenses and [a] steady supply of basic needs and commodities such as food and medicines, all local government units are directed to maintain the free flow of all goods, equipment, and other essential products along the major roads and supply routes throughout the province.”
“Refrain from setting up checkpoints [at] every local government unit within the province as there is already a provincial-wide lockdown that is currently being implemented and focus all attention, efforts, and resources on the operationalization of triage at the municipal/city level so that health concerns may be addressed [at] the soonest possible time in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19 in the province,” the memo added./DGB, WDJ
