15 intercepted in Cauayan for violating border controls

At least 15 individuals from Antique were intercepted yesterday morning in Cauayan after allegedly violating border controls imposed by the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Philippine Coast Guard-Negros Occidental (PCG-Negros Occidental) chief, Lt. Commander Jansen Benjamin, said personnel from the PCG sub-station in Cauayan made the apprehensions while conducting shore patrols.
Based on a list issued by PCG, the passengers and crew of the MBCA Sheila Mae comprised of seven adults and eight minors.
Benjamin said they visited Cauayan to vacation with a relative.
The 15 were subsequently turned over to the Cauayan municipal government and immediately quarantined at the town’s health center./DGB, WDJ
