The Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) yesterday confirmed there are currently six patients under investigation for suspected coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, in the city. Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson for the Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force Against Novel Coronavirus, said the six individuals, comprised of five males and one female, were brought to different hospitals in the city.
She explained, the said patients had traveled to locations including Manila, Negros Oriental, and Dubai; and were exhibiting “flu-like symptoms.”
The health official added, swab tests have already been taken and were immediately sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.
In addition, Tan clarified, the six were not among the individuals who arrived at the Bredco Port over the weekend.
She also confirmed, the three women earlier designated as under investigation were discharged after testing negative and are now in good condition.
She again appealed for cooperation from city residents and urged those with a travel history from affected areas to voluntarily place themselves under 14-day self-quarantine./DGB, WDJ
