After Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas issued an executive order earlier this week suspending all major public gatherings due to the ongoing threat from the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, he recently informed city residents that businesses found in defiance of the order will be shuttered.
“[To] those who [do] not follow our executive order, we will cancel your permit and close your establishment,” the mayor affirmed. “It is imperative to protect the health and safety of constituents by extending the suspension of public gatherings.”
He said the order stands until “government agencies and offices declare Covid-19 controlled and contained.”/WDJ
