Security guard stabbed and killed in San Jose

A security guard was stabbed and killed by a tricycle driver last Wednesday in front of the Unitop along Tobias A. Fornier Street in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. The fatality was identified as 26-year-old June Sarte, a security guard with the Justice Security Agency and resident of San Remigio’s Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.
Closed-circuit television camera footage showed the suspect, 27-year-old tricycle driver Marion Armonio of Purok 7 in San Jose’s Barangay 1, involved in a confrontation with the security guard around 9:00 a.m.
According to eyewitness accounts, Armonio returned that afternoon and stabbed Sarte around 2:40 p.m., striking him in the back and chest. The suspect quickly fled while drivers in the area stopped to assist the victim.
The security guard was brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital but was declared dead-on-arrival.
Police continued to investigate the incident./WDJ
