Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer ordered 27 technical assistants to return home after a staff member of a provincial board member was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City after complaining of flu-like symptoms. He said the directive was a precautionary measure against the possible spread of the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the employee in question accompanied a board member to the Philippine Councilors League national convention last week in Manila. He noted, when the employee returned to work, she said she was “not feeling well.”
The governor added, Negros Occidental councilors who also attended the convention did not report any symptoms or being sick.
“They are all well,” Lacson affirmed.
He also confirmed swab samples from the employee in question have already been sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine./DGB, WDJ
