Nestea sweeps elimination round

Nestea successfully completed a sweep of Class B in the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Invitational Cup elimination round earlier this week with an 85-76 win over Summit at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym. Meanwhile, Cobra Berry Blast pulled off a 106-75 win over Tiger Crystal Light.
Despite Nestea taking a 46-31 lead at halftime, Police Brigadier General Adonis Rosales and Leo Bat-og led a Summit rally, narrowing their deficit to 61-53; however, with Cesar Tan and Carlo Chu each tallying 10 points for Nestea in the final period, they secured the sweep.
Tan delivered 23 points for Nestea while Chu added 20.
Meanwhile, Rosales scored 27 points for Summit, while Bat-og added 11, Arvin Gustilo – seven, Alan Pol Morales – six.
In the other game, Cobra Berry Blast held a 47-34 lead at the break with Sean Wee and Biboy Yap helping extend the lead to 77-53 in the third quarter.
Wee scored 28 points for Cobra; while Nico Lopingco added seven; and CJ Aguilar, Kerwyn Guillon, and Jay Agulan each delivered six.
Despite the loss, Monroe Chua finished with 16 points for Tiger; while Kenneth Ymalay scored 13, Bryan Solinap – 11, and Andre Tan – eight./WDJ
