Nineteen families displaced by recent demolitions in Bacolod City have secured documentation for relocation. Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA) head Ma. Victoria Parreñas said the families are from Barangay 12 and will be relocated to Progreso Village 1 in the city’s Barangay Vista Alegre.
She said at least 50 families were affected by the demolition, with 37 qualifying for lots at Progreso Village.
Earlier, BHA announced they would serve cancellations to 150 “homelot” recipients after they were found in violation of City Ordinance No. 269, or the Bacolod City Housing Ordinance.
Parreñas said the beneficiaries in question sold, leased, or transferred the lot to settle illegally.
“We conducted an inventory, evaluation, and confirmation of the report as part of the process for the cancellation,” she said./DGB, WDJ
