Dolphins FC Football Academy owner John Carmona, a former national team player, recently announced they would be partnering with Singapore-based Brazilian Jericho Soccer Academy (BJSA) in an effort to develop football in Negros Occidental. According to their website, BJSA was created with the intention of teaching Brazilian-style soccer to the children and teenagers in Singapore.

Initial talks with the overseas academy were first reported last month.

The academy will hold their first module next month at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City. Beginning April 2, a total of 12 sessions will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. In addition, they will also be divided into several categories including 4, 5, and 6 years old; 7 and 8 years old; 9 and 10 years old; 11-13 years old; 14 and 15 years old; and 17 and 18 years old.

“The academy might not have a good facility and quality coaches but it has a program on how to develop and evaluate players’ skills as well as the year-round activities,” Carmona said./ASC, WDJ
