Following delays due to the ongoing threat from the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, the 82nd UAAP volleyball season will begin next week, March 3, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The UAAP yesterday announced the men’s and women’s teams of University of the East and Far Eastern University will battle in the opener.
“With the success of the men’s volleyball team in the last Southeast Asian Games, it’s about time we put men’s volleyball side-by-side with women’s volleyball,” said UAAP President Emmanuel Fernandez.
This season, Tuesday games will include one men’s and one women’s match; while Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday matches will alternate between both sides.
Aside from the SM Mall of Asia Arena, matches will also be played at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City./ASC, WDJ
