Five injured after van strikes police vehicle

Five individuals, including two police officers, were injured yesterday when a van struck a police vehicle in Santa Barbara’s Barangay Bolong Oeste. The injured were identified as Police Staff Sergeants Francisco Sodusta and Windy Ojana of the Santa Barbara Police Station, Van Francis Laru-an, Kevin Cepra, and Precila Gangoles.
Laru-an is currently confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center; Cepra and Gangoles, who complained of body pains, were advised to seek medical check-ups; while the two police officers sustained bruises and were later released from the hospital following medical check-ups.
Police reports showed the incident occurred at 10:20 a.m., when a police patrol vehicle was signalling a left turn, a van driven by 47-year-old Renante Guevarra of Calinog’s Barangay Balaticon struck the left side of the patrol car.
The driver, who escaped the accident unharmed, was detained at the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station where they face charges./WDJ
