Kaya FC-Iloilo continues their 2020 AFC Cup group stage campaign against Tampines Rovers, who finished second in the 2019 Singapore Premier League, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Iloilo City-based club opened the group stage with a 2-0 win over 2019 Myanmar National League champions Shan United.
“It was nice to start the season with a win and we hope to keep that momentum going,” said Kaya FC striker Kenshiro Daniels. “The training the last few weeks has been good; doing as much tactically to win this game.”
He also expressed excitement for playing at “home.”
“I am definitely excited [and] it’s been awhile; it is nice to win at home in front of the home crowd,” Daniels said. “The last time we [had] a pretty good crowd at home and we are hoping to get the same thing.”
“Rovers are in good form right now and they play really possession-based,” he added. “I think it will be tough but I think we will be all right.”
The Singaporean outfit, meanwhile, is coming off a 2-1 win over Indonedia’s PSM Makassar/ASC, WDJ
