A 19-year-old was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly pointing an improvised firearm at another individual in Bago City’s Barangay Lag-asan. Police identified the arrested suspect as Kurt Jake Gonzales, a resident of Purok Paho South in the city’s Barangay Taloc.
Based on investigations carried out by police, the victim, 31-year-old Michael Pingcas, was in his home when he saw Gonzales holding a .38 caliber pin gun. When he asked if the firearm was real, the suspect said it was and pointed it at Pingcas.
The victim immediately wrestled the teenager to the ground and took possession of the firearm. He then contacted Bago City police, which led to Gonzales’ arrest.
Police recovered the improvised gun, which was loaded with .38 caliber ammunition.
Gonzales faces illegal possession of firearms charges and is detained at the Bago City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
