After failing to solve several murder cases in the city, along with the recent killing of City Councilor Alex Tizon, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) acting director, Police Colonel Julian Entoma, yesterday recommended all police officials belonging to the Bayawan City Police Station be relieved of duty.
In a radio interview with 106.3 Yes The Best FM, Entoma made the request “verbally” before Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) director, Police Brigadier Albert Ignatius Ferro.
The NOrPPO official said he is currently awaiting Ferro’s response.
Bayawan City acting police chief, Police Lt. Colonel Alfonso Enriquez, meanwhile, said he is aware of Entoma’s request but would not comment on the matter.
Tizon was shot by unidentified gunmen in the city’s Barangay Villareal earlier this week.
Police have yet to determine a motive behind the shooting./DGB, WDJ
