Permit holders’ forum today at the Negros First Residences

The Governor’s Permit Holders’ Forum takes place today at the Negros First Residences function hall in Bacolod City. Around 200 individuals are expected to attend the event that seeks to strengthen partnerships by generating input for future relevant policies and reinforce mining regulations in the province.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson will address the event; while Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Region VI director, Engr. Raul Laput; Environmental Management Bureau-Region VI director, Atty. Ramar Neil Pascua; Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office Forester Edgardo Rostata; and Negros Occidental Miners Permittees Association Inc. President Michael Eusebio will serve as resource person and discuss new and relevant policies pertaining to small-scale mining practices and other relevant issues.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Provincial Environment Management Office head, Atty. Danilo R. Amisola, will discuss innovative changes that have been adopted and future development strategies to improve services related to applying for a governor’s permit.
The forum will also provide permit holders a venue to articulate their concerns and pursue possible solutions. (PR)
