Negrense leads NLEX over Alaska in Pasig City tournament

Negrense center Raul Soyud led the NLEX Road Warriors in their 104-89 win over the Alaska Aces in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament earlier this week at the Upper Deck in Pasig City. Soyud powered NLEX with 22 points, while Kevin Alas contributed 18, Pedrito Galanza scored 11, and rookie William McAloney added 10.
Alas unloaded nine points for NLEX early on, giving them a 22-9 lead, which later widened to 43-24 midway into the second quarter. Vic Manuel then narrowed the gap to five points in the third but Soyud and Alas led a 15-2 run, pushing NLEX to a 71-53 advantage.
Manuel led Alaska with 28 points and eight rebounds, while Mike DiGregorio scored 15 points, and Abu Tratter recorded 11 points and eight boards.
The tournament comes to a close today with NLEX looking to finished undefeated against the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, while the Aces end their campaign against the San Miguel Beermen./ASC, WDJ
