A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental yesterday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tectonic tremor struck at 5:54 p.m. approximately 28 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town with a depth of 186 km.
Instrumental Intensity IV was felt at General Santos City, while Instrumental Intensity III was felt at Kiamba, Alabel and Malungon in Sarangani and in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Instrumental Intensity I was also felt at Kidapawan City and Koronadal City.
Phivolcs said there is no expected damage to structures but aftershocks may occur. (ABS-CBN News)
