“Limpyo Iloilo,” a province-wide clean-up drive, kicks off today with a caravan from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol to Santa Barbara National Comprehensive High School. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office will lead the initiative, which is expected to take place in 43 locales across Iloilo.
The program, which will be conducted every third Saturday of the month, seeks to achieve a clean Iloilo for health, tourism, and progress; along with promoting the culture and character of cleanliness and the spirit of volunteerism.
Also taking part in the environmental campaign are national government agencies, members of the academe, the business sector, non-governmental organizations, the religious sector, people’s organizations, youth organizations, cooperatives, and “environmental warriors.”
“Make cleaning a daily habit,” said Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr./WDJ
