The Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters scored a 108-90 win over the San Miguel Beermen yesterday in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament at the Upper Deck in Pasig City.
The Fuel Masters broke the game wide open in the third quarter and kept their foot on the gas despite several attempts from the Beermen to keep the match competitive. Matthew Wright anchored Phoenix in the second half and finished with 19 points.
Both sides were without key players as Phoenix was missing Elvin Jake Pascual and Dave Marcelo, and San Miguel did not have June Mar Fajardo and Marcio Lassiter.
The Fuel Masters next face the NLEX Road Warriors while the Beermen take on the Alaska Aces tomorrow, February 21./ASC, WDJ
