Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Board Member Andrew Montelibano, who chairs the Provincial Board Committee on Agriculture, recently led the turnover of P2,284,601 worth of livelihood projects to various fisherfolk associations from across the province.
Recipients included the Taloc Baybay Fishermen Association of Bago City, who received P200,000 for a blue swimming crab trade project; Litib-Litib Fishermen Association of Victorias City, who received P150,000 for a fishery-based livelihood project; Sitio Dacutan Daku Fisheries Village Association of Silay City, who received P150,000 for upscale fermented shrimp paste; PRIMO Brotherhood Association of Binalbagan, who received P150,000 for a fish processing livelihood project; among others.
In addition, a fishing net livelihood project worth P899,601 was also provided for 16 fisherfolk associations across the province./WDJ
