Nearly 30 NegOcc localities make ‘good financial housekeeping’ list

A total of 29 Negros Occidental localities made the 2019 Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) list for Good Financial Housekeeping. The Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping assesses how well local government units comply with set accounting and auditing standards along with rules and regulations.
The local government units named include Bacolod City, Bago City, Binalbagan, Cadiz City, Calatrava, Candoni, Cauayan, EB Magalona, Himamaylan City, Hinigaran, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Isabela, Kabankalan City, La Carlota City, La Castellana, Manapla, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Sagay City, San Carlos City, Silay City, Sipalay City, Talisay City, Toboso, Valladolid, and Victorias City.
A report by the DILG Bureau of Local Government Supervision showed, out of a total 1,706 local government units assessed, 1,522 passed, or 89 percent. Meanwhile, in the Western Visayas, out of 139 assessed, 127 passed, or 91 percent.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City also made the list./DGB, WDJ
