A Bayawan City councilor was killed yesterday morning after unidentified gunmen fired at his vehicle along the national highway in the city’s Barangay Villareal. Police identified the slain councilor as 66-year-old Alex Tizon, a resident of the said barangay.
Initial investigations by Bayawan City police found Tizon was driving home when two gunmen aboard a motorcycle overtook his vehicle and opened fire.
Tizon was instantly killed in the attack.
Authorities recovered four empty 9mm bullet shells from the crime scene.
Police have yet to determine a motive behind the shooting./DGB, WDJ
