NLEX beats San Miguel in Pasig City tournament

The NLEX Road Warriors leaned on clutch hits by Kris Porter in their 103-97 take down of the San Miguel Beermen yesterday in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament at the Upper Deck in Pasig City.
The NLEX power forward, who recently returned from a knee injury, led the team to a narrow 91-90 lead with just over four minutes left in the game. A subsequent three-point play conversation then set off an 8-0 run, widening their advantage to 96-90.
After Porter delivered a triple with 1:17 remaining, Kenneth Ighalo added an undergoal stab for a 101-95 lead with 22 seconds left in the game, sealing victory for the Road Warriors.
Porter finished with nine points and six rebounds, while JR Quiñahan led with 14 points, Ilonggo point guard Kiefer Ravena and Pedrito Galanza each had 11, and Asi Taulava added 10.
Despite the loss, Moala Tautuaa tallied 15 points for the Beermen, while Terrence Romeo Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot each delivered 14.
Meanwhile, Kevin Racal led the Alaska Aces to a 98-87 victory over the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters./ASC, WDJ
