5 arrested for drugs, firearms in Victorias City

Manapla taken into custody

Five individuals, including two minors, were arrested Sunday morning following a drug bust in Victorias City. Authorities identified the arrested suspects as 21-year-old Carlo Sotor of Cadiz City, 18-year-old Gerald Lobaton, Jr. and 25-year-old John Rey Alvarez of Victorias City, along with a 17-year-old minor from Cadiz City and a 15-year-old minor from Manapla.
Police confiscated seven heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, P400 in buy-bust money, cash proceeds amounting to P800, two mobile phones, and other drug paraphernalia. In addition, they also seized a .38 caliber revolver loaded with three live bullets from Sotor; along with an improvised shotgun, commonly referred to as a “sulpak,” loaded with one live bullet for a 12-gauge shotgun from the minor from Cadiz City.
The suspects are detained at Victorias City Police Station and charged in violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./WDJ
