Due to the ongoing threat from the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, the Philippine men’s national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifier, along with 82nd UAAP season competitions, has been postponed.
FIBA yesterday postponed Thursday’s game between the Philippines and Thailand at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. However, there has been no word on the status of Gilas’ game against Indonesia, which is scheduled to take place next weekend, February 23, at the BritAma Arena in Jakarta.
Aside from the Philippines, Japan’s game against China, along with the latter’s face-off with Malaysia, were also postponed. All games are set to be rescheduled for next month.
Meanwhile, the UAAP announced volleyball, men’s football, softball, senior basketball, athletics, and judo were postponed.
