The Department of Health-Region VI (DOH-6) revealed, as of last Tuesday, 29 patients under investigation for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, tested negative. DOH-6 director, Dr. Marlyn Convocar, noted, the patients in question have since been discharged.
She added, of the 29, seven were from Iloilo, while Negros Occidental, Bacolod City, and Iloilo City each reported three patients. However, after two were discharged in Capiz, another three were admitted in Roxas City.
“We will wait for two to three days for the result,” said Convocar.
Meanwhile, she explained, despite being discharged, the patients in question will continue to be monitored for a period of 14 days.
“Usually abi ang mga PUI nga ni, mga ika-10th day na sila ginhilanat, so amo na ginkwaan (Usually, for patients under investigation, they develop a fever on the 10th day and are then swabbed for samples),” the DOH-6 director explained. “Majority sa ila, paggwa sang result tapos na ang 14 days (For a majority of the cases, results are available after 14 days).
In order to prevent the spread of the virus, DOH advises against participating in events where many people are gathered, along with canceling large-scale events.
