The “Amidst the Green” and “Shadow Memories” exhibits, featuring the works of Jo Anne V. Coruña and Angela L. Silva, opened at the Negros Museum in Bacolod City last weekend.
According to the museum, “Amidst the Green” features watercolor presentations documenting Coruña’s attempt at growing a food forest within 1,000 square meters of land, while “Shadow Memories” offers a collection of cyanotype prints, a form of alternative photography.
“This body of work provides a sampling of the culinary traditions and innovations of the people of Negros Occidental,” said Coruña. “These paintings tell the personal stories, family histories, struggles, and triumphs of the people of Negros Occidental.”
Meanwhile, Silva describes her work as “a combination of love of vintage Filipiniana and real photo postcards with printmaking and collage.”
The exhibits run until May 30. (PR)
