The Department of the Interior and Local Government recently turned over a P12.5 million fire truck to the Bacolod City government. Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Bureau of Fire Protection-Bacolod City fire marshal, Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, received one of 74 units being distributed earlier this week at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
According to the fire marshal, with the new addition, the city is now equipped with a total of 11 fire trucks.
“The water tender fire truck has a water capacity of 2,400 gallons and will yield an increase in water capacity in times of fire suppression, which means lesser damage to properties,” he explained./WDJ
