Ceres FC scores 4-0

win over Svay Rieng

Ceres-Negros FC opened the 2020 AFC Cup group stage with a 4-0 demolition of 2019 Cambodian League champions Svay Rieng earlier this week at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
The Bacolod City-side got to an early start with a goal from midfielder Takashi Odawara in the 12th minute. Two minutes later, defender Joshua Grommen doubled the lead.
The Cambodian outfit had an opportunity in the 23rd minute after Svay Rieng striker Befolo Mbarga was brought down by Grommen; however, the penalty kick by midfielder Thiago Santos was successfully saved by Ceres keeper Roland Müller.
In the second half, midfielder Bienvenido Marañon scored a brace, putting Ceres FC up 4-0 with goals in the 55th and 70th minutes.
