Victorias Milling Company, Inc. (VMC) recently inked two partnership agreements with the Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) encouraging technical vocational education and training for local students through in-plant training and access to heavy equipment for students enrolled in heavy equipment operation courses.
The agreements were signed by VMC President Minnie Chua; VMC Chief Operating Officer Kristine Cabuguason; Don Bosco technical director, Fr. Cyril Cardinal; and Don Bosco lector, Fr. Eli Santos, at the Victorias Golf and Country Club earlier this week.
“This partnership benefits both VMC and [Don Bosco] as they uplift the lives of poverty-stricken, out-of-school youths of Victorias City and transforming them [into] the ideals of St. John Bosco, that is, making these young people honest Christians and honest citizens,” Cardinal said.
Under the skills training agreement, the milling firm will mentor students, along with cover insurance costs during their in-plant training and provide an allowance. (PR)
