Negrense player leads AdMU over UST

Negrense point guard Samjosef Belangel led Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in their 82-71 win over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) over the weekend in the 2020 Philippine Collegiate Champions League at the San Juan Arena. Belangel drained six triples and finished with 26 points for AdMU, while Angelo Kouame delivered 15 points and 13 rebounds.
The Negrense player earned seven points early on as AdMU got to a 12-3 start, which eventually grew to 27-10. However, UST managed to make it a one-point game in the final quarter. In response, Kouame led an 11-0 run for AdMU, taking an 82-68 lead.
“Tough game; rough game,” said AdMU head coach Tab Baldwin said. “I think it was two pretty good teams who were not in midseason form.”
Meanwhile, Deo Cuajao and Rhenz Abando each finished with 14 markers for UST, while Soulemane Chabi contributed five points and six rebounds./ASC, WDJ
