Tay Tung, SJI win NOPSSCEA girls’ volleyball titles

Bacolod Tay Tung High School and the St. John’s Institute (SJI) won Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association girls’ volleyball titles last Saturday at the University of St. La Salle gym in Bacolod City. Tay Tung defeated the Trinity Christian School to capture the U-15 category, while SJI also scored a win over Trinity Christian School to take the U-10 division.
Ana Hermosura, Jothea Ramos, Amber Lily Biong, Anthea Galicia, Ysabelle Jalea, and Grace Hiponia played key roles for Tay Tung. Also joining them on the roster were Charlene Tayapad, Jersley Edaño, Joenil Anne Ramos, Jihan Chuatico, Elphie Cahilig, Erica Nacional, Marianne Panisales, AJ Palo, and KC De Los Reyes.
“This victory is huge because this was the first championship of Bacolod Tay Tung’s aspirants team,” said Tay Tung team manager Jose Montalbo.
Meanwhile, in the other competition, team captain Keyanna Palic, Margareth Ruiz, Reece Demonteverde, and Andrea Lobaton led the SJI offense./ASC, WDJ
