Negros Occidental defends tertiary basketball title

Negros Occidental, represented by Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, defended their tertiary men’s basketball title in the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association Meet last Wednesday in Capiz. The team took the championship following a 97-68 victory over Iloilo, which was represented by the Western Institute of Technology. Christian Montepio led the win with 25 points, while Jeffrey Manday contributed 16.
The rest of the team was comprised of Shane Joseph Dichoso, John Philip Egat, Carl Magbanua, Sean Sajo, Reymart Caranoo, Billy Rojo, Rey Alexander Jalapa, John Loyd Licawan, and Ritz Nemenzo.
Despite the loss, Miguel Sasuman finished with 16 points for Iloilo, while Marvin Cuerbo added 15.
