The Department of Public Works and Highways-Bacolod Engineering District is scheduled to turn over the P33 million Bacolod Evacuation Center in the city’s Barangay Vista Alegre. Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, who visited the site yesterday, disclosed the turnover will be held next week, February 14.
“Since the construction of the project is already done, this should be turned over to the city government of Bacolod so that it can be utilized,” he explained.
The facility includes a multi-function building with a capacity of 300, an infirmary that can accommodate around 100 patients, laundry area, material recovery facility, restrooms, and a generator power supply and water supply.
Meanwhile, Gasataya said, in a worst case scenario, the center can be used to house patients under investigation for the 2019 novel coronavirus./DGB, WDJ
