The Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. (SIFI) held a medical-dental mission in President Roxas, Capiz last week for locals whose homes were damaged by Typhoon “Ursula,” which struck the area last December.
“The services rendered by all parties involved contributed greatly to the success of the mission, benefitting mostly those whose homes were severely affected by Typhoon ‘Ursula,’” said SIFI President Edith Y. Villanueva.
Among the medical and dental services offered included medical consultations, dental extractions, x-rays for beneficiaries with respiratory ailments, and blood sugar screening.
In addition, free medicines, antibiotics, vitamins, hygiene kits, rice packs, first-aid kits, and school supplies were distributed.
Nearly 700 sugar workers and their families benefited from the event./WDJ
