Ilonggo basketball players Ralph Bajon and Ronrei Tolentino are set to join the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) team. According to EAC head coach Oliver Bunyi, Bajon will be suiting up in the upcoming 96th NCAA season while Tolentino will serve a one-year residency before playing next year.
The coach talked about seeing Bajon on the court, which compelled him to acquire the former Santa Clarita International School player.
“I saw the way he played [at the National Basketball Training Center] finals last year in Manila,” he said. “I am glad he decided to join the Generals.”
Meanwhile, Bunyi discussed the work Tolentino has put in to join the squad.
“He has been practicing with us since last month and I am converting him to the three positions,” the coach added.
The players themselves also expressed their excitement.
“Hindi ko sasayangin ang pagkakataon na ito (I will not miss out on this opportunity),” Bajon said. “Pagbubutihan ko talaga ang laro ko sa EAC (I will really improve my game playing at EAC).”
For Tolentino, he said, “I am already in the process of familiarizing myself here with coaches and teammates.”/ASC, WDJ
