Bidding for the proposed P125-million Manapla Public Market is set to begin this month. In a radio interview, Manapla Mayor Manolet Escalante said he received information directly from Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson during a recent meeting.
The mayor said the budget will be sourced from a loan borrowed from the Land Bank of the Philippines.
The new public market will replace the old one that was gutted in a fire last year.
Escalante hopes construction begins before the end of next January./DGB, WDJ
