Marite Espina of Silay City is set to debut for De La Salle University (DLSU) when the 82nd UAAP women’s volleyball season begins later this month.
“I am really excited to play for DLSU kasi dream school ko po ito (I am really excited to play for DLSU because it’s my dream school),” said the former Living Stones International School standout. “I am also determined kasi hindi ako nakalaro last year (I am also determined because I did not get to play last year).”
A knee injury sidelined Espina last season.
The DLSU team, who will be led by Ilongga middle hitter Aduke Ogunsaya, include Ernestine Tiamzon, Carmel Saga, Jolina dela Cruz, Marionne Alba, Michelle Cobb, Baby Jane Soreno, Thea Gagate, Leila Cruz, Mereophe Sharma, Alister Borabo, and Justine Nazareno.
