Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson held a New Year’s Call yesterday morning for Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) officials at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall. During the gathering, the governor issued marching orders to police chiefs to improve police visibility in order to secure their respective jurisdictions.
He also encouraged the use of closed-circuit television cameras as a means of deterring crime.
Additionally, Lacson commended the entire NOPPO police force for their accomplishments in 2019 and urged them to continue carrying out President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to eliminate illegal drugs and corruption.
“I did not set any targets for them because they themselves have their own targets,” he said.
The governor added, he is satisfied with NOPPO’s current performance.
Meanwhile, with NOPPO director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, due to retire in June, Lacson said the Philippine National Police should begin scouting for a replacement in about two months./DGB, WDJ
