Binalbagan farmer wounded after being shot

A farmer was slightly wounded after he was shot Monday morning in Binalbagan’s Barangay Bi-ao. Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Joel Paculanang, a resident of the said neighborhood.
Based on the statement provided by the victim to Binalbagan police, he was having coffee at a store near his home when the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Johnny Lindayao, shot him with an unknown type of firearm. Paculanang was initially struck in the right cheek but managed to stand up and take cover behind several houses as Lindayao continued to open fire.
After unloading his weapon, the suspect immediately boarded a motorcycle and fled.
Paculanang, meanwhile, was rushed to the Isabela District Hospital for treatment.
Police are still determining the motive behind the shooting./DGB, WDJ
