A three-year-old boy was killed after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle over the weekend in Valladolid’s Barangay Poblacion. Police have requested anonymity for the victim, who was a resident of the said area.
Valladolid Municipal Police Station traffic investigators said the vehicle, which was driven by 43-year-old Edwin Ofalla, was heading southbound at the time of the incident. While executing a left turn towards the town’s Barangay Alijis, he struck the minor.
The victim was rushed to the town’s district hospital, and later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. However, hours later, he succumbed to head injuries.
Ofalla, meanwhile, surrendered to police after the incident./DGB, WDJ
