Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, who was in Cadiz City over the weekend for the Dinagsa Festival, warned voters of “fake partylist groups.”
The elections official affirmed she would not hesitate to deny applications from such groups when seeking accreditation.
“If somebody files a petition on the grounds that it is not really [an] authentic or genuine partylist group, I am willing to hear the cancellation case,” Guanzon stated.
The Comelec official, who previously served as Cadiz City mayor, is set to retire in February 2022, three months ahead of the next presidential elections./DGB, WDJ
