Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) student Carla Mae O. Mesa recently left for the United States, where she will be studying at Endicott College in Massachusetts until May as part of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program, which is hosted by Fulbright Philippines and sponsored by the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and The Philippine-American Education Foundation.
“It is a privilege that one of our students [is] able to experience the student exchange program,” said CHMSC College of Arts and Sciences Dean Jay B. Estrellas. “We are trying to promote the student exchange program with other countries and this is really an opportunity for her to also see the other side of the world.”
“At the same time, she will be able to learn something regarding the curricular program in that area,” he added.
The program was also made possible by the Train, Volunteer, Study, and Exchange Abroad Program, or TraVerSE, which is designed as an optional co-curricular and extracurricular enhancement program for eligible students.
Earlier this month, eight CHMSC students left for Japan, where they will be interning with Chuo Food Services Company, Ltd. (PR)
