A senior citizen is in custody after stabbing a drinking companion over the weekend in Santa Barbara’s Barangay Cabugao Norte. Authorities identified the assailant as 62-year-old Francisco Suralla of the town’s Barangay Lupa.
According to a police report, Suralla and Herman Panes of the municipality’s Barangay Cabugao Norte were heading home after drinking when an argument ensued. The suspect reportedly stabbed the victim with a broken bottle.
Police conducted the arrest around 11:00 p.m. with Panes being sent for treatment at the Western Visayas Sanitarium, where he is currently confined.
Frustrated homicide charges have since been filed against the suspect./WDJ
