Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is looking to reduce the number of casual workers, or temporary contracted employees, from 800 to 700 by March.
The governor called 700 an “ideal number.”
“I have asked Atty. Annabelle Palic, the human resource officer, if there’s a way to objectively decide who should be retained,” he explained. “After March, we will make a decision who among the casuals will be retained unless they [are] facing complaints.”
Lacson said the proposal seeks to bring the casual worker volume to a “fixed number.”
“I have not yet [sit] down with the provincial administrator to discuss the planned re-organization; it is just an idea,” he added. “Nothing is definite.”/DGB, WDJ
