One person was killed, while three others were injured, following an incident between two motorcycles Sunday morning along the national highway in Himamaylan City’s Barangay II. Authorities identified the fatality as Bernie Berde Pido of Binalbagan’s Barangay San Jose.

According to police, a motorcycle being operated by Aser Nequia Jugos of the city’s Barangay Mambagaton was attempting to pass another motorcycle, which was being operated by Chrismar Longno with Christine Joy Navarro and Pido as backriders. As a result, those aboard Longno’s motorcycle fell to the ground, which also injured Joemaries Claud, a bystander.

The four were brought to Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, where Pido was declared dead-on-arrival.

Jugos is detained at Himamaylan City Police Station./WDJ
